Tor Olav Gabrielsen

Executive* Chairman of the board 

Tor Olav Gabrielsen is the Chairman of M Vest Water. He holds a master’s degree in finance (Cand Merc.) from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and has more than 15 years of experience from the financial and shipping sector. He is an active investor and currently holds the position as Director in Teamco Group, a Swiss-based family office. Mr. Gabrielsen holds several board positions within the IT, shipping and building and construction sectors.

*A recruitment process has been initiated to find a suitable successor as the CEO decided to step down from his position for retirement purposes as of August 1^st, 2024. The company's Chairman of the Board, Mr. Tor Olav Gabrielsen, will take on further responsibilities as Executive Chairman of the Board in the interim period.

Rune Gaasø

Director of the Board

Rune Gaasø is a technology development strategist with 35 years of global experience from O&G holding leadership positions in Odfjell Drilling, BP and Equinor within operations management, R&D, strategic procurement, business development. Extensive board director experience in businesses as subsea hardware, logistics technology, seismic, risk management. During the last decade, cofounder of a range of companies within the regenerative and circular space, as waste recovery in steel and plastics, CO2 carbon storage, and is holding 10 board positions, chair in 2 of them. His key strengths are, relationships, deep understanding of large complex industrial projects, collaboration across business silos and creativity in solving societal tangles.

Morten Hilton Thomassen

Chief Financial Officer

Morten Hilton Thomassen has more than 20 years of experience and has over the past 15 years held several management positions in companies within energy, fisheries, consulting and the water treatment industry. Prior to joining M Vest Water, he was a Partner at Complér Corporate AS and served as CFO for Norsildmel AS. He started his career in insurance before joining Bergen Energi where he for a period of 10 years held several positions of increasing seniority including Risk Manager and CFO. His extensive background includes strong skills in developing businesses, global business structures, relationship building, and corporate governance. He holds a Siviløkonom degree focused on finance from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
